My name is Laureen. I am Swiss-American and was born and raised in Bern, Switzerland. My passions are fine art and language/literature: I see both fields as equally important and equally gratifying. I studied Fine Arts at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Switzerland, where I received my first bachelor’s degree. Although I am open to new media, I prefer expressing myself using traditional art methods: drawing and painting is what I do best. During my studies I developed a fascination for the English language. In fact, I was so curious to learn more about all the aspects of English that I decided to study English Languages and Literatures (and Art History as a minor) at the University of Bern, Switzerland. I recently graduated ‘magna cum laude’.
I always worked in high fashion boutiques during my studies. It is a very good field for developing people skills and to establish a sense for the customers’ needs. My favorite student job was to work for the University of Bern, as the Modern English Grammar tutor.
After my graduation my boyfriend Nicolas and I decided to move to the United States. I am now a California resident and look very much forward to putting my knowledge and creativity into practice.
